Who the heck is the Eagle?
Good Question. I am the official logo of
America's Master Handyman, Glenn Haege.
I am a somewhat overweight, but a very handsome Bald Eagle wearing
a hard hat and tool belt, and carrying a circular saw. When you
see me on my official logo shield I am saluting, the word "America's"
is above my head, and the words "Master Handyman" are
below my claws. My official colors are red, white and (what else?)
blue. The logo shield is sometimes signed by the boss, Glenn
Haege.
The logo shield appears on official Master Handyman Press, Inc. books, publications like the Ameritech Yellow Pages Home Improvement Guide, letterhead, signs and on this web site. You may also see me on shirts, umbrellas, and various other paraphernalia. The logo shield is your assurance that the product or service is officially authorized by Glenn Haege and Master Handyman Press, Inc..
I am not always stuck on a logo shield, you may see me walking, talking or pointing on this web site.
Wherever I am and whatever I am doing, I am at all times a registered Trademark of America's Master Handyman, Glenn Haege, and the sole property of Master Handyman Press, Inc. Do not even think of duplicating me without the express permission of Glenn Haege.
How much does Glenn get paid to endorse
products?
Nothing.
Although America's Master Handyman, Glenn Haege, recommends hundreds
of products and services for solving specific problems, he does
not endorse any of them. He is not paid for recommending any
product or service.
At the beginning of his broadcast career, Glenn decided that he would rather be a spokesman for the home improvement and hardware industries than for any company, group of companies or products.
This may have cost him a great deal of money over the years. However, the decision was necessary so that you the listener, reader, and web surfer, do not have to worry that he is saying nice things about a product for money. When Glenn recommends a product or service, it is because he honestly believes that it is the proper solution for a specific question.
How can I ask Glenn a Home Improvement question?
Nothing could be easier.
Call toll-free 1-866-ASK-GLENN (1-866-275-4536) every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon (EST). The earlier you call, the better your chances.
I'm too busy to call on the phone. Can't I just write a letter?
Sure, you can write.
But you have to understand that Glenn talks to more people about
home improvement than any other person in America. A lot of those
people write letters and send e-mail. Although he wishes he could,
Glenn gets overwhelmed with mail and has neither the time, money,
nor secretarial staff to reply.
If you still want to write, his mailing address is: Glenn Haege, Handyman Show, P.O. Box 268, Glenn, MI 49416.
Glenn's e-mail address is: glenn@masterhandyman.com
Why should I write Glenn if he is not going to write me back?
Here are a few reasons you might want to
write:
You've had a bad day and want to get something off your chest.
Go ahead, you're entitled.
An answer you heard Glenn give really helped and you want to say "Atta boy, Glenn. Thanks." Letters like that makes his day. They also impress potential advertisers and radio station program directors.
You have information you think that Glenn should know so that he can inform his listeners and readers.
The squeaking wheel gets the grease. Although letters aren't answered, they are tallied. If we receive 1,000 questions about a specific roofing problem in a given week, a few roofing tips are sure to be added to the tip page. A roofing industry expert might get invited to be on Glenn's show. Glenn might write an article about it in the newspapers or create special radio tips for our affiliate stations.
Miracles happen.
Would it help if I sent house plans or photos with my letters?
Not a good idea.
Unfortunately they will just be thrown away with your letter,
not returned. If you are going to see Glenn at a home show or
one of his many personal appearances around the country, bring
all the information you can.
Never send Glenn anything important through the mail.
I've got a great idea for a much-needed home improvement product. Can I send my ideas to Glenn and get some advice.
No. Bad idea.
Glenn wishes you the best of success with your invention. He
has no clout with manufacturers or financial people and could
not help you bring your idea to fruition. If you send it to us,
the package will probably just wind up in the wastebasket. Once
it's in the trash its fair game and anyone could steal your idea.
Play it safe. Show your ideas only to your closest advisors and
a good patent attorney before you go looking for a manufacturer.
I have a brand new home improvement product that is just going into national distribution. Can I send Glenn a sample and/or a press release?
Great idea.
Glenn loves to tell his listeners and readers about
new cutting edge technology. If Glenn likes the
concept he may ask for test samples and see how people like
using the product. Until he knows it works and that you really
do have national distribution, he probably won't talk about it.
Send product samples and press releases to:
How can I get the "Handyman Show"
program on a radio station in my market?
Bless you.
Call the Program Director of your favorite radio talk station and tell him or her that you would be a loyal listener if they carried the Handyman Show with Glenn Haege program
If you have a business, you really have clout. Tell the program director that not only would listen, but you would also advertise on the program. Follow up with a call to the Sales Manager.
Ask them to contact the Handyman Show with Glenn Haege syndicator, Handyman Productions at 1-248-616-0810, for more information and availability in your market.
How can I purchase Glenn's books?
I thought you'd never ask.
Book sales are what keep me in bird food and that ain't chicken
feed. My personal taste runs to mice and rabbits, a young deer
that's just become road kill will do. Top it off with a nice
Bordeaux and a good cigar. Life doesn't get much better than
that.
Where were we? Oh, yeah, Glenn's books. Most people like them because they're not stuffy, but are filled with Glenn's slightly offbeat sense of humor. The idea is to provide books crammed with need to know how to advice, and not be boring. One of the nicest compliments we get at Master Handyman Press is calls from amazed reviewers saying, "I actually read the whole book."
To learn more about them, you can visit our on line Book Store and find a complete description of all of Glenn Haege's books. Then you can buy one on our secured site, or call the Master Handyman Press, 24 hour, toll-free, order line, 1-888-HANDY-81 (1-888-426-3981).
You can also order Glenn's books through other excellent on-line book stores; or special order them from your local bookstore.
